Learn more about parametric modeling and understand the idea behind voronoi structures.Process
Voronoi structures are inherently complex yet beautifully organic. When I first learned about these structures, I was in awe at how intricate and beautiful they are. I noticed them a lot in the cycling community. Less mass equals less weight.I started by watching some Youtube tutorials on the definition of a voronoi structure. I found out that the idea was founded by Georgy Voronoi and was originally used to create diagrams that defined different points and regions within a plane. This was useful for many reasons - one being to help understand the spread of cholera in London (1844). From there I decided to move along by applying this structure to a cycling helmet. I finally came up with a final design and moved over to Grasshopper for 3D modeling.
